Our Background
2019 - was an incredible start for SheHacks - it was amazing to see so many girls turn up and explore their interests in coding. Paired with industry professionals, it was an inspiring and educational event for so many. 2020, struck with COVID-19, we held a virtual hackathon. Although faced with new challenges, again, as always we were impressed with the quality of work produced during the hackathon. In 2021, we hosted a successful virtual conference, inviting girls across the region to participate. The event exemplified our commitment to inclusivity, providing a platform for skill development and collaboration in STEM. Luckily in 2022, we were able to host an in-person hackathon on UWC campus! Across 2 days, participants got the exciting chance to hear from inspiring speakers, learn new technical skills from mentors and build a project. Again in 2023, we were able to host yet another successful hackathon by hosting judges and mentors from top STEM fields. It was a great opportunity for girls with minimal exposure to the field to truly immerse themselves. In 2024, we aim to produce an event where girls get to explore their passion for STEM in a workplace environment, that inspires their curiosity and motivates them to create the most successful projects. This year, SheHacks will be hosted at the Microsoft Office, along with the help of top STEM industry professionals to help create an the impact on participants. Hope to see you there! |
